Savory Oatmeal

When my boyfriend asked me if I’d ever had savory oatmeal, my nose turned up a little bit. He saw that but went on to give me this recipe. As I listened to the ingredients, my mind went from “um, no” to “hmmm. That might not be too bad.” So, I tried it. I have to say, it was really good. If you don’t like the texture of oatmeal, I suggest using rice. Also, I thought I would broil for an extra couple minutes at the end and in doing that, I cooked the yolk of the egg. If you want runny yolks and browned cheese on top, when you turn the setting to boil, take the pan out of the oven unti it is ready, then, I wouldn’t leave it no longer than two minutes flat. One last thing. I doubled the cheese because you can never really have too much cheese. This is a hearty, creamy, crunchy, healthy-except the cheese and very easy to make.
